Chancellor George Osborne writes:

Earlier this week over a hundred business leaders from major companies which between them employ over half a million people - at least five of whom had previously backed Labour - signed a letter to the Telegraph praising the Conservatives-led government' economic policies. In what was universally taken in the media as criticism of Labour policy, they warned that

We believe a change in course will threaten jobs and deter investment. This would send a negative message about Britain and put the recovery at risk.

You can read reports and analysis of the letter here: the full text of the letter itself is about half way down the page and the full list of signatories a little below that.

Chancellor George Osborne welcomes the letter, saying:
>

"Over 100 business leaders, heading up some of Britain's best-known companies as well as smaller businesses - and who together employ over half a million people - have spoken out today.

Their message is positive: under David Cameron's leadership, we have an economic plan that is working and creating jobs.

But their warning couldn't be clearer: a change of course will threaten jobs, deter investment, and put the recovery at risk.

While the Conservatives have a plan to keep creating 1000 more jobs every day, a vote for Ed Miliband and Ed Balls would put people's jobs and our recovery at risk.

Now, more than ever, Britain needs to stick with the plan that's working.
