Thank you day

Today we are celebrating Thank You Day, recognising the heroes who have gone above and beyond this year and bringing our communities across the UK together.

  • Communities across the UK are home to unsung heroes – their selfless actions made a real difference as we tackled COVID-19, and it is important that we celebrate their contribution as restrictions are lifted.

  • That is why we are marking Thank You Day by encouraging Covid safe picnics, BBQs, and street parties, as faith communities across the country come together to show gratitude to local heroes who have helped with vaccinating the homeless and other vital support.

  • By recognising all those who pulled together and helped people in need, we can follow their example as the country reopens, continuing to support one another so we build back better.
  • There was a  vey moving service on this theme at St James' Church Whitehaven this morning. Here is a picture of the candle I lit after the service, while making a little prayer of thanks for all those who have helped others during the pandemic.
