Culture Wars music spot No 1: Last Night of the Proms 2020, Rule Britannia

The BBC backed down in the face of overwhelming public pressure and reinstated Thomas Arne's "Rule Britannia" from "Alfred" and Edward Elgar's First pomp and circumstance march, (a.k.a. "Land of Hope and Glory") in the Last Night of the Proms yesterday evening.

I should think so too.

There is nothing wrong with including new things to widen the scope of the material covered.

Nor is there anything wrong with being proud of your country.

There is everything wrong with taking away things that people want to hear and mislabelling it as diversity.
