Chris Whiteside is a Conservative activist who lives in Whitehaven in the Copeland constituency and borough with his wife and family. Chris was recently elected chairman of the Conservative party's Cumbria area. He was previously Conservative parliamentary candidate for the Copeland constituency in 2005 and 2010.
A rare night in, and I was glued to the TV this evening watching the tennis. Andy Murray's fourth round nail-biter was one of the most riveting displays of tennis I have ever seen - up there with the Borg-MacEnroe finals.

I have removed a very silly insult to Andy Murray which broke the comment rules of this blog.
What happened to good old fashioned British freedom of speech?
I have no problem with people using their freedom of speech to express opinions I disagree with. But I want this blog to be suitable for reading by a family audience, and I don't allow swear words. If the anonymous poster had expressed his disdain for Andy Murray without using the f-word I would probably have put in a reply post disagreeing with him but I would have left it up.
