"Don't Mention Our Record" Labour tells activists

According to the Daily Mail the Labour party has told its' workers NOT to campaign on the record of the Labour government. A leaked document about Labour's "Operation Fightback" gives this advice as Labour tries to regain momentum after what the paper describes as "months of dire economic news and setbacks."

You can read the full article here.

Key points in the article include -

" ... the leaked document is an astonishing admission that voters have little to show for 13 years of Labour rule."

"It says: 'Voters considering voting for the Tories are attracted to the argument that David Cameron would make a change.

'Labour needs to ensure that the next election is seen not as a referendum on the government but as a big choice about the change we want for Britain.'"

It is quite clear that Gordon Brown is hoping for a state of amnesia amongst the British electorate. No wonder he does not want his party workers to 'talk about the war'. Labour's record is abysmal. How can Gordon Brown talk about Labour being the party of the many and not the few? After thirteen years of Labour rule the country is badly damaged. Britain's recession is the deepest since 1945, the national debt continues to grow. The poorest, that Labour purport to support, have suffered deeply. More people have been pushed into poverty. Our pensioners are amongst the poorest in Europe and pension funds have been raided. One in five young people are out of work. Tax payers are burdened with paying for a huge creaking bureaucracy. Now a death tax threatens to remove the hard earned savings of hard working people on moderate incomes.

I am sure most British people are tired of being treated like fools by this Government and do not really want another five years of Gordon Brown. His party is not for the many. This country needs a party that is for everyone, which will cut back bureaucracy, reduce debt and return freedom and responsibility to the citizens, while protecting essential services like schools and the NHS. The Conservatives not Labour will deliver to everyone.

The Daily Mail has been known to have a go at both the Conservatives and Labour - it endorsed Tony Blair at a general election not all that long ago.

So when the Daily Mail is critical of Tory Policy you'll post it here on this blog ?

Pots and Kettles, Tim.

I post things on here which I think add to political debate, which tend - surprise, surprise - to be things I agree with. I don't usually put things on here which I don't agree with, except very occasionally to fisk them.

If you want to put something which the Mail or anyone else says criticising the Conservatives onto the internet, put it on your own blog.
