Ode for St Cecilia's Day (Boyce)

Today, the 22nd of November, is commemorated as Saint Cecilia's Day.

She is regarded as the Patron Saint of music and in consequence some excellent music has been written to commemorate today. Here is an example by the English composer William Boyce.

On a more important note today, Mr Hammonds buget was not so bad to be honest, not so many horrors in there at all to be fair (and I know, Im hard to please)

a couple of bits i would disagree with but nothing too major, and the dreaded diesel tax never came to be really, so all in all yeah that will work.

not a bad one.

though i expect £150 per household to be paid by the chancellor, from his own pocket, due to the fact his top gear joke was diabolical.

Chris got it right, Hammond is an irrelevance.

The reason I had not yet posted on the budget is that I have been away today at a meeting in Edinburgh and arrived home shortly before midnight.

The two previous posts for 22nd November were written beforehand. I was originally intending to write a post on the budget when I arrived home.

However, when I eventually arrived home I felt that the disruption which the weather has caused to our county was a more urgent situation for a Cumbria County councillor to post about than the budget, so this was the first subject I wrote about when I got to my desk.

That does not mean that the budget is unimportant or irrelevant.

I do ikntend to post about the budget tomorrow (well, actually later today now.) IN the meantime it's high time I was in bed.
