Helping more people to learn maths skills

Today the Prime Minister will set out the next steps to get more young people learning maths to 18 so they have the skills needed to succeed – getting better jobs and growing the economy.

  • Numeracy is a key skill that will be vital to succeed in the jobs of the future, but too many adults have poor numeracy.
  • That is why today, the Prime Minister will set out the next steps to get every young person studying some form of maths to 18, either through existing routes such as A Levels, the Core Maths qualifications, T-Levels, or through new innovative options.
  • Changing our national approach to maths will give young people the tools they need to succeed, create a skilled and competitive workforce and help grow the economy.
