Government listens to rail users and tells rail companies to withdraw plans to close ticket offices

A massive response from railway users was received, and the overwhelming number of respondents were against the plans.

The government has taken account of the views expressed in the consultation, and instructed the rail operators to withdraw these plans and think again.
