Backing Britain's Small Businesses
Yesterday the Prime Minister hosted a festive street market on Downing Street, showcasing British businesses, championing business owners and encouraging communities to invest in Britain.
- There are 5.5 million small businesses registered in the UK which support over 16 million jobs and provide the backbone to our economy.
- That is why, ahead of Small Business Saturday, the Prime Minister welcomed small businesses from across the UK to Downing Street – reiterating that businesses across the country can be reassured the Conservatives will always support them, including with our £13.6 billion support package over the next five years and help with energy bills.
- We know small businesses can have a transformative impact on their local economy and community and we are committed to encouraging everyone to get behind their local businesses and invest in Britain.
