Budget date confirmed as 24th March

As Richard Willis and others predicted, budget day has been confirmed to be 24th March.

Because that date is only a few days before Easter, this is being seen as confirmation of what most people have suspected for some time: that the General Election will be called just after Easter and take place on Thursday 6th May.

The Election Countdown application on this blog is to the last possible date for an election - Thursday 3rd June - so subtract 28 days for the probable actual date.

Who do you trust to spend less money, whilst making services better and more efficient?

Looks like Gordon Brown has waited until the last minute to call the budget. Just enough time for him to spend all the country's money!Government sponsored golfballs, massage rooms and Brazilian dancing amongst the waste. 4.5 Million on NHS bureaucracy and in some hospitals, according to the 'Nursing Times', patients are being treated in inappropriate places to boost targets. No wonder the country is in financial dire straits.

Role on the General Election and responsible financial management. Vote Conservative.

The word delusional just doesn't do it justice.

You're probably right about the budget, Tim, but we might be wise to wait until it's actually been presented before we decide.
