A Sunday morning story.

A blind man was walking up the street with his white stick and guide dog. Hearing another person walk past the blind man asked how close they were to the City Museum.

"Next turn on the left and it's another hundred yards on the left" the nearest pedestrian replied.

"No, I'm sorry but that's wrong" a second person who heard the exchange replied. "It's second on the right, and then another hundred yards on the left."

"Forgive me but you're both wrong" said a third person, "Just carry on in the same direction as you are going and you'll be there in another three blocks."

An argument was starting when a policeman came up.

"I'm afraid you'll all have to move on" he said, "You're bocking the entrance to the city museum."

(Told, probably not in exactly these words, by Canon John Kelly at St James's Church, Whitehaven this morning.)
