Quotes of the day 11th June 2015

"I pay tribute and give credit to Ed Miliband. That was the best manifesto I have stood on in four elections"

(Andy Burnham speaking in Dublin (!) on 9th June 2015)

"Best Manifesto, Worst result."

(Ben @Jamin2g on twitter in response to this comment.)

It was not for me, The attic hatch is about 1/2" too high for me on tippy toes (oddly it was the same in the last house). I discovered that if i stand on a book then its ok i can reach to open on tippy toes, then i can use the stick to get the ladder down.

anyway, the Labour manifesto was too thin to be of any use for standing on. Which makes it an even more useless document than before.

Gives a whole new meaning to Andy Burnham's statement that he had "stood on" the Labour manifesto ...

Exactly, He gained the same result as I did by standing on it.....that result was failure......

I have to say though I am glad to see Harriet Harman has also picked up it, when she asked at PMQs why the government was trying to bypass the rules preventing it from inappropriatly using taxpayers money or the government influence in the short campaign"

the PMs answer of "I do not want a situation where, in the four weeks before a referendum, Ministers cannot talk about the European budget, make statements about European Court judgements, respond to European Councils and all the rest of it. That seems a very real danger, as the Europe Minister set out last night." This one is going to bite harder and harder.
