The decision not to "call in" the West Cumbria mine is not being reconsidered
This letter was sent at the end of last week, I'm posting it today as there has been some "sound and fury" in the media giving some people the misleading impression that the government might backtrack on the decision not to "call in" the West Cumbria Mining planning application.
That impression is wrong, The government will allow the planning decision made three times (and twice unanimously) by a majority of locally elected councillors from all three political parties) to stand. It is not being reconsidered.
