Vaccination update

OVER 8.9 MILLION vaccination doses have been administered so far across the United Kingdom

Britain has now offered at least a first vaccination to over 9 in 10 people in their 80s and 3 in 4 of the 75-79 year olds. This includes offering a vaccination to vulnerable residents of all care homes in England with older residents – a crucial milestone in our ongoing race to vaccinate the most vulnerable against the disease.

In the last week, Britain averaged almost 375,000 vaccinations each day and we continue to scale up our capacity to deliver.

On Saturday, almost 600,000 people were vaccinated in one day – 100,000 more than the previous record day.

Only two countries – the United States and China – have vaccinated more people in absolute terms than the UK. We are also one of the best countries in the world in terms of vaccinations per head.
