Reception at No 10
The PM hosted a reception in the Rose Garden at Number Ten today, organised together by Greg Hands MP, for Regional and Area officers of the party and Constituency chairmen in Yorkshire, the North West, North East and Scotland.
Last time I was invited to a reception here I asked him about the need to train more doctors and medical personnel. I very much got what I asked for: last week a new NHS manpower plan was announced which did indeed include a very large increase in the number of medical professionals to be trained.
Took the opportunity to discuss the matter with the PM again today and why I think we need a new school of rural medicine with a style of doctor training better suited to maintaining services in rural areas like North Yorkshire or Cumbria.
