Schools in England open to all pupils tomorrow
From tomorrow pupils at schools and colleges in England will begin the full return to face-to-face education as part of Step One of the roadmap to recovery, getting them back in the best place for them to learn - the classroom.
- Thanks to our collective efforts of the entire country and the success of the vaccine rollout, infection rates and cases are continuing to fall - meaning we can take the first step in the roadmap back to normality.
- From tomorrow, pupils will return to schools and colleges. To support their return, the government is are providing 57 million tests to schools to identify cases and break transmission chains. This enhanced testing alongside the existing safety measures will ensure pupils and staff are safe and that they can get back to the classroom.
- The reopening of schools marks a truly national effort to beat this virus. It is thanks to the determination of every person in this country that we can take this important step - moving closer to a sense of normality.
