Finding a new national home for Britain's railways
A competion has been announced to find the national home of our new rail organisation, Great British Railways, putting passengers first as we level up the country.
- Britain's railways were born and built to serve this country – but years of fragmentation, confusion and over-complication has seen that vision fade and passengers failed.
- That is why in May the government launched a new Plan for Railways which puts passengers first – led by a new organisation: Great British Railways – and we have now established the transition team that will serve as the early forerunner to the organisation, and will launch a competition to find the first national HQ.
- Conservatives are getting on with the job and aim to deliver a new era in the history of our railways – putting passengers first as we build back better.
