Finding a new national home for Britain's railways
A competion has been announced to find the national home of our new rail organisation, Great British Railways, putting passengers first as we level up the country.
Britain's railways were born and built to serve this country – but years of fragmentation, confusion and over-complication has seen that vision fade and passengers failed.
That is why in May the government launched a new Plan for Railways which puts passengers first – led by a new organisation: Great British Railways – and we have now established the transition team that will serve as the early forerunner to the organisation, and will launch a competition to find the first national HQ.
Conservatives are getting on with the job and aim to deliver a new era in the history of our railways – putting passengers first as we build back better.
