Looking out for small businesses
Today the Prime Minister hosted a panel event in Downing Street with small businesses. We have championed and supported small businesses, including through tax cuts, and if we stick with our plan we can continue to create a brighter future for them.
- Because we stuck to the plan to halve inflation by the end of 2023, we were able to cut business rates for smaller businesses, saving the average shop £1,650, supporting our highstreets and strengthening local economies.
- Labour can’t say how they would support small businesses because they don’t have a plan.
- Rishi Sunak and the Conservatives will stick to our plan that is providing business with the certainty they need to grow, create jobs and deliver more prosperity and security for Britain.
Update 11.38am 2nd February - Sir Flip-flop strikes again
I have removed a reference to Labour's only offer to business being tax rises to pay for their £28 billion spending plan, as the the Labour party have apparently dropped that plan. The point about Labour not having a plan stays in as it is even more appropriate.
