A clear plan with bold action for a secure future
The Prime Minister has today called a general election. The choice at the election is clear: stick with the plan by choosing bold action for a safer, more secure and more prosperous future with Rishi Sunak, or go back to square one with Keir Starmer and the same old Labour.
- CHOOSE sticking with Rishi Sunak and the Conservatives who are working through a clear plan and will take the bold action needed to deliver a secure future for you, your family, and for Britain in an increasingly uncertain world
- REJECT going back to square one with Keir Starmer and Labour, who don’t have the conviction, courage, or plan needed to navigate an increasingly uncertain world and secure a brighter future for our country
Q: Why are we having an election?
Inflation has returned to its normal level and the economy is turning a corner.
Now the public should choose who has the clear plan and can deliver the bold action needed to secure a better long-term future for our country and our children, in an increasingly unstable and uncertain world.
Q: What is this election about?
The world is more dangerous than it has been since the end of the Cold War. Putin’s Russia is waging a brutal war in Ukraine; in the Middle East, the forces of Islamist extremism threaten regional and global stability; and China is seeking to dominate the 21st century by stealing a lead in technology.
Uncertain times call for a clear plan and bold action to chart a course to a secure future.
So this election is about who has the clear plan and is willing and able to take the bold action that the UK needs to secure its future in an uncertain world.
CLEAR PLAN. BOLD ACTION. SECURE FUTURE.
The UK has faced unprecedented challenges caused by Covid and Ukraine. This has made life more difficult for the British people.
- By sticking with the plan, Rishi Sunak is making progress. The ship is steadier than it was before:
- Inflation down from 11.1 per cent to 2.3 per cent and returned to its normal level, the lowest since 2021.
- Rwanda Act has passed, and we are getting the planes ready.
- Economy growing and we have the joint fastest growth in the G7 in this quarter.
- Meaning we can cut NICs a double tax on work from 12 per cent to 8 per cent, saving the average worker £900 a year.
But the future is far from secure. War has returned to Europe. China is aggressively attempting to expand their influence. Iran and their affiliates are sowing unrest across the Middle East.
Because the ship is steadier, we can now take the steps needed to secure Britain’s future.
In this increasingly uncertain world, we need to build a future where we are safe, secure, and prosperous. That means:
- Protected from global events.
- Safe to walk the streets.
- If you work hard and play by the rules, you will get ahead.
- Our children and grandchildren will have every opportunity to thrive.
- Proud of our country and its history.
That’s why Rishi Sunak has a clear plan consisting of bold action needed to make the country safer, more secure and more prosperous.
Rishi Sunak’s track record shows he will deliver, even when difficult decisions are needed, because he sticks to his principles:
- Delivered furlough to protect 14 million jobs in the pandemic when many faced unemployment.
- Persisted with the Rwanda Deterrent to stop the boats against significant opposition from Labour.
- Taking difficult long-term decisions creating the first-ever smoke free generation to protect the NHS.
- Reinvesting HS2 into local transport investments now.
- Reaching 2.5 per cent defence spending target so we can protect the UK in an uncertain world.
- A fairer welfare system where people are incentivised to work.
- A more pragmatic approach to Net Zero securing energy and keeping costs low.
- Cutting the unfair double tax on working people to keep more money in your pocket.
The alternative is going back to square one with Keir Starmer and Labour who do not have the conviction, courage, or plan that Britain needs to secure a brighter future:
Starmer has not set out his own plan despite having 4 years to do so in opposition; with 16 relaunches and his leadership pledge card already torn up.
And his record of lacking the courage and strength to stick to his guns: refused to stand up to Corbyn, dictated to by Angela Rayner and the unions over their French-style laws, and over eighty-eight u-turns.
And that means you can’t trust him not to increase your taxes, raid your pension, bring ULEZ and road pricing to your local area, and burden your children with increased borrowing.
Because history shows us when Labour runs out of money, they come after yours.
A vote for anyone but the Conservatives, be it Reform or the Liberal Democrats, is a vote for Labour and Keir Starmer. Keir Starmer wants you to vote for them, because he knows it will divide the Conservative vote and lead to a big Labour majority.
This election will decide whether or not Britain has a secure future. The world is changing quickly, and we need to adapt or we will be left behind.
So the choice is clear.
Stick with the plan by choosing bold action for a safer, more secure and more prosperous future with Rishi Sunak, or go back to square one with Keir Starmer and the same old Labour.

I don't pretend that we have got everything right, no party or government does. But the economy is turning the corner and I believe the Conservatives have a better understanding of how to keep it that way.
There will be much more about how we will do that posted here during the campaign.
