I do have to say though, at least on the night, Ed took it well, he was polite and respectful to the others and accepted the desision. I actually grew to like the man thanks to the way he accepted his political death (note i said the man, not the policies he lived by)

And I guess with Ed, once you are gone, you stay gone, unlike some........mr farage

Yes, he took it with dignity and grace, I will give him that. My point was never that he was personally a bad man, it was that as Labour shadow chancellor he was the personification of Labour's disastrous policy to spend more, tax more, borrow more.

That's what I was pleased to see rejected.

Yeah, I understood what you meant, I just had to hand him that bit of credit where it was due. I wont prentend for one second I am not glad to see the back of him politically. It was just to hand it to him for how he dealt with what will possibly be the worst night of his life.

I was moved to put the passage below forward as a quote today when I saw a horrible post on twitter from someone writing that it was "excellent" that someone who took a different view from her about Brexit had died. I won't write which way round it was so that all the Remain supporters can assume the post was from a Brexit fanatic welcoming the death of a remainer and all the Leavers can assume it was a Remainiac welcoming one less Brexiteer.
