Six days to go and still too close to call

The general election, the vote for Mayor of Copeland, and other local elections take place next Thursday - six days away.

Opinion polls still suggesting a very close race, and it looks like this might go down to the wire. Every vote is vital.

I and my team will be out campaigning this afternoon and evening and all through the weekend. We will try to reach as many people as possible. But if you are a Copeland voter and have not heard from your local Conservative candidates, or have a question you want answered, please do not hesitate to get in touch.

You can leave a comment here, or telephone - we have put phone numbers in our literature and I am in the phone directory - or you can email me at chris4copeland@btinternet.com.

Yes. Got the message. It's going to be too close to call until we get the results on Friday morning. There you go I just saved you writing 5 more posts.

I am sticking to my prediction of a few weeks now, a small tory majority. If I am wrong in Friday then you can raise the roof with a "Jim was wrong, let's all laugh" post. And I will say "Yes, I certainly got that wrong".

Just thought I would be a useless politician. What a daft idea, admitting when you messed it up.

If you are wrong we will have far worse things to worry about than me teasing you for getting it wrong.

And so will the country.

true, but having a little problem will distract me from the bigger one. The world will seem a brighter place as I may be able to forget the bigger problem for around 5 seconds or so. After all if I am wrong, then there is nothing I can do about it, at least not for the next five years. Isn't that a problem...

of course we could prevent it happening again, we could stop history repeating itself....there is an economy so we elect a "fair" left wing government to distribute the wealth but they cant halp themselves and borrow way too much ruining the country finally we get to elect a conservative government who over the years are forved to become "the nasty party" as they have to make spending cuts to help rebuild the economy. once they are well on the way to doing it there is an economy again, but people are fed up with the nasty party so we elect a "fair" left wing government to distribute the wealth but they cant halp themselves and borrow way too much ruining the country finally we get to elect a conservative government who over the years are forved to become "the nasty party" as they have to make spending cuts to help rebuild the economy. once they are well on the way to doing it there is an economy again, but people are fed up with the nasty party so......

we could keep doing this, or we could change the system to one that does not allow this to happen

Though there is a possibilty that I may be wrong AND things still are not too bad.

if the conservatives dont have enough for a majority, all is not lost if there are enough to form another lib dem deal (though im not expecting lib dems to be large, there may be just enough. they will also vote in favour of a referendum (they are convinced in will win) also the 2 UKIP seats i expect will vote for a referendum as will the 8 DUP seats I expect. so all is not lost, even with no cons majority.
