"The British public voted for £350m a week for the NHS. We will deliver that – and more."

I do remember voting to Leave the European Union and Voting No to changing elections to AV.
I know some idiots in the "main" or "Vote leave" campaign put a silly slogan on the side of a bus, but any one with any idea at all of the issues knew it was complete rubbish. In fact I would even argue that 50% of the criticism of that bus came from people who indeed did end up voting leave.
The campaigns on both sides were very poor, and did not sway too many people either way, sure the slogan possibly caused people to swing to "remain".
A big swing toward leave i think came when David Cameron thought it was right and proper to use our money to produce a booklet on why to vote remain. Bit of a backlash effect.
But I maintain that "The British public voted for £350m a week for the NHS" is at best a vast exaggeration
That's a very clear question, its perfectly clear. Unlike politicians, in general people tend to answer the question they have been asked. But we cant be 100% sure they will so to solve that, lets make it multiple choice.
so the answers you could choose from were:
1 Remain a member of the European Union
Or
2 Leave the European Union
as it turned out 52% of people chose option 2. That means that the majority of people chose to leave the European Union. Its not rocket science, giving £350m to the NHS does not appear anywhere does it?
Now i do accept the argument that 48% of people selected option 1, and that is no small amount of people (it was never going to be) so they should be listened to and of course some things need to be negotiated. But, the point is we have to leave the European Union, thats it, nothing more, nothing less.
I don't think anyone disputes though, that the idea of spending more money on the NHS is popular. I think I agree with you about the best use for the bus, but I don't think it made anyone vote Remain.
