Boris in Northern Ireland

Ahead of his visit to Northern Ireland today, the Prime Minister has committed to building back stronger and better than ever in our recovery from the pandemic – ensuring no part of the UK is left behind.

  • As the country begins to get back on its feet in the wake of coronavirus, we will build back stronger than ever.

  • We will also make sure the whole of the UK is ready to take full advantage of the many opportunities that lie ahead and that no part of our union is left behind. As we mark 100 years since the creation of Northern Ireland, it is important that we celebrate its people, culture and traditions, along with its vital contribution to the United Kingdom.

  • Throughout this pandemic, our unprecedented economic support has been a lifeline to hundreds and thousands of people and business across the UK. In Northern Ireland alone, we have protected 316,000 jobs, granted thousands of businesses loans and delivered an additional £2.2 billion in funding to help in the response to COVID-19.

  • As we more to the next stage of our economic recovery we will ensure that our support evolves to focus on creating jobs and driving forward economic growth. As we do this, we can assure every nation in our union that nobody will be left without hope, opportunity or support.
