Today is International Women's Day. An appropriate day to take a step back and consider whether the Health and Care system is meeting the needs of women.

So the government has just launched a call for evidence to enhance our understanding of women’s experiences of the health and care system to help improve the health and wellbeing of women across England - placing women’s voices at the centre of their care.

  • We all want our healthcare system to work for everyone and improving women’s health, especially at older ages, is critical for a fair health and care system fit for the future.

  • That is why, with work underway on a landmark new Women’s Health Strategy, the government is urging those with experiences or expertise in women’s health to come forward share their views. This will help to inform the future of this important strategy and ensure women’s voices are front and centre of it.

  • Delivering high quality care is central to the mission to level up the country. This study will help to ensure women and girls can always access the treatment and services where and when they need them.
