Review of the murder of Arthur Labinjo-Hughes

The government has announced a major review into the murder of Arthur Labinjo-Hughes, so that we can learn the lessons from this terrible case and ensure we protect children from harm.

  • This tragic murder has shocked and appalled the nation. It is incredibly distressing that a young boy has been senselessly robbed of the chance to live his life.
  • So the government is launching a national review of Arthur’s death by the Child Safeguarding Practice Review Panel to identify where we must learn from this terrible case, as well as a joint inspection of all the agencies tasked with protecting vulnerable children in Solihull.
  • It is essential to protect children from harm and, where concerns are raised, to take urgent and robust action.
