Issues for Copeland - Grit Bins

While canvassing some of the hilly areas in Copeland (of which there are many, with my former ward of Bransty being an example) a number of people have said to us that the lack of grit bins and material to put in them (the point also being made to us that salt works better than grit and doesn't clog the drains) was an issue.

Although this is currently a County Council issue I will make sure if elected as Mayor that this type of concern is picked up and raised with Cumbria county council. People get rightly fed up with politicians and bureaucrats passing the buck to another level of government and wherever possible should try to do something about concerns raised.

And by the way, #SupportOption1

It is one that is very very annoying (not the grit bins but the buck passing)
It just gets so annoying that this issue is not our cometency, or this one isn't or well this is due to our funding........

it really is annoying (I only wanted a street light fixed)

By the way, as mayor of Copeland would you take a look at the love of traffic lights they seem to have. its getting really annoying. they are at banks road end now (top of mirehouse hill).

rip them all out and place roundabouts instead, problem solved.

Classic example of why - look at getting out of morrisons carpark at whitehaven. its a nightmare. then look at getting off morrisons carpark in workington (which is busier due to there being more stores sharing that entrance) yes, workington works (its a mini roundabout)
