He writes on Conservative Home about his visit. Here is an extract. I’ve been in Cumbria today to see the areas affected by the floods. I arrived early in Keswick where I met officials from the Environment Agency. Although the river levels had fallen considerably and homes were no longer flooded, the damage to homes had been done. And the water which had got into houses wasn’t just from the river – it was foul water which had risen from the drains. I talked to fire crews who were pumping flood water back into the river, and discovered that they were from Tyne & Wear and Lancashire. Its odd really that some one as senior as the UK PM has not noticed the left have been doing exactly that for years and years.

every time, every time, socialism has been tried in any form it has failed, no exceptions, every time! so has fiat currency, every time, every single time its been tried though out history, every single time, without exception.
I mean is it not time we started learning some lessons here.
Negative absolute interest rates are unusual and in my opinion are absolutely ridiculous, but some people who you would have expected to know better - including the ECB - have flirted with them.
