He has served as a County, City & District, Borough, Town and Parish councillor, and has also been a school governor and health authority member. He is currently an Egremont Town Councillor.

One of the finest messes the country has ever seen was that left from the last labour administration, but I see after over 7 years, the new lot still have not cleaned it up.

Not completely cleared up, no, but there has been a lot of progress in many areas.
Sadly the country's finances will have to be a great deal more thoroughly repaired before it is likely that any government will feel it can afford to reverse the raid on pensions, though personally I would really like to see that done.
