Freudian slip of the century

The kindest explanation of this extraordinary gaffe by Labour's shadow Leader of the House is that it was the most unfortunate slip of the tongue any British parliamentarian has made in living memory .;.

I have been away most of this week, and have just noticed a comment on this thread which, unfortunately, I had no choice but to remove because it included a joke which I think exposed me to the risk of legal action if I didn't remove it.

Frankly I greatly dislike doing so because most of what is in that post is fair comment but unfortunately one of the three things implied by the joke was quite similar to an allegation for which the Leader of the Opposition did threaten to sue and the MP who had made the allegation was forced to issue a humiliating apology.

However, I think the serious comment made about the leader of the opposition by the author of the post comes under the heading of fair comment, so I will repeat it here. He wrote that he would not usually say something like the joke I had to remove, and then continued,

"But come on, if that man ever got to be PM, god forbid, but if he did, he would most likely knock HWSNBN right off the perch as worst PM ever."
