Student Tuition Fees

I don't often repeat things from written by Lib/Dem students, but I do think they have a point with this reminder of who else U-turned on Student Tuition Fees (and far more times than Nick Clegg did)

Another point i think here. Manifesto promises should have some sort of legal binding. Its too easy here to cause chaos and get away scott free.

I never really was a "student" as such. I did do a degree via OU and I did go to "summer schools" and things to help get it. Very nice taxpayer funded skive time really. Though I remember being in the bar (doing assinments and that, ahem) and being one of the very few "none socialists" there.
you could tell a mile off who was a full time student, and who was not. it was sort of eerie.

I remember one major socialist telling me all sorts of "great things" i was kind of in the half listening mode. they then asked what are you studying? I said "physics" to which the answer was amazing. "Oh well that explains it. So out of touch. I am doing Media, i want to make a difference." erm ok

Good Lord!

You have to wonder what on earth went on in what passed for a mind of someone who could make such a comment.

Presumably he or she had little if any conception of the difference made to the lives of human beings by physicists like Archimedes, Pascal, Volta, Doppler, Fermi, Oppenheim, or Rutherford. But without them, most of the media he or she was studying could not exist.

Yes, full time students were rather a strange bunch. I thought it better to say "oh, good luck with it" to him, them leave it at that.
