Withdrawal agreement passed in emergency midnight session of parliament

A government statement just issued confirms that the PM's Withdrawal agreement has been passed by an emergency session of the House of Commons,

Britain will leave the EU with a deal on May 22nd.

Meeting at midnight, MPs approved the deal by 220 votes to 5 after a short debate.

The Prime Minister said "I welcome the fact that my colleagues have now enabled us to move forward, and look forward to Britain leaving the EU on 22nd May."

Jason Rees Mogg added "Bruxelles Delenda Est."

The chief whip was heard saying to one of his colleagues "How did those five find out about it?"

Tracked down after some difficulty for a comment, House Speaker John Bercow issued the following statement:

"Who locked me in this basement? What's going on? Will someone kindly unlock this door?"

President of the EU Commission Jean-Claude Juncker said

"At last! This is what she should have done months ago! It's how we do things all the time!"

P.S. You do know what day it is, don't you?
