Fuel Duty frozen for the seventh successive year

One of the things which makes life difficult for many of those families who are working hard but just about managing is the cost of living, and the price of fuel - which impacts both the cost of private motoring and that of public transport - is a major part of this.

So I am particularly pleased that the chancellor has frozen fuel duty for the seventh successive year.

This will help people all over Britain and particularly in areas like Cumbria.

Seven years ago people as well as the economy needed a significant cut in fuel duty, freezing it again only stops the double take from both fuel duty and the inflation tax.

Quote of the day 24th July 2020

I was moved to put the passage below forward as a quote today when I saw a horrible post on twitter from someone writing that it was "excellent" that someone who took a different view from her about Brexit had died. I won't write which way round it was so that all the Remain supporters can assume the post was from a Brexit fanatic welcoming the death of a remainer and all the Leavers can assume it was a Remainiac welcoming one less Brexiteer.
