Border Quarantine new rules will start on 15th February
From 15 February new measures including mandatory quarantine hotels will come into effect for all arrivals from travel ban listed countries as the UK further strengthens quarantine measures to control the spread of coronavirus and prevent the arrival of new variants - protecting people and saving lives.
- The UK has one of the toughest border regimes in the world. It is now illegal to leave the country for holiday or leisure purpose, we require any arrivals must present a negative test result for entry, as well as completing a passenger locator form and quarantining for 10 days.
- However, in the face of new variants, it is important to take extra precautionary measures to minimise the spread of Covid-19 and stop the arrival of new variants into the UK.
- That is why the UK government is sharing expertise from our friends around the world and introducing further quarantine requirements for UK nationals arriving from 33 countries on the travel ban list, meaning that from 15 February arrivals from these countries will be required to quarantine in a government-approved facility for 10 days.
- These increased levels of protections at our borders will provide an extra level of insurance in prohibiting new variants from entering the UK and minimise the spread of Covid-19, to save lives and protect the NHS.
