Getting the vaccine rollout on track in Scotland
The UK government has made an additional deployment of almost 100 UK military personnel to Scotland to support the vaccine rollout, as Britain's armed forces continue to play an invaluable role in ensuring those most at risk get their jabs.
- As Britain continues our world leading vaccine programme, it is important that we are able to reach all corners of the UK to protect lives and vaccinate the most vulnerable.
- The British government is committed to ensuring the vaccine reaches every corner of the UK and that is why we are increasing the number of UK military personnel helping the effort in Scotland to over 200. As well as providing additional logistical support to enable rapid deployment at short notice, these personnel will work alongside our NHS staff to deliver the vaccine where it is most needed.
- The pace and progress of our rollout shows the strength of our union and how much we can achieve by pulling together as one United Kingdom to deliver for the most vulnerable.
