Boris in Scotland and the North West

It has been announced that the Prime Minister will travel to Scotland and the North West next week. During his tour he will see what progress has been made on levelling up, clearing the backlogs and improving living standards across the UK.

  • Levelling up means that access to good healthcare, a good education, skilled work, and reliable transport should not depend on where you live in the UK.
  • The Prime Minister will visit apprentices in Scotland, including in Cyber and engineering, who have been supported by our 2018 Edinburgh & South East Scotland City Deal, and a centre that is tackling the Covid backlogs through new technology following the publication of our Electives Recovery Plan.
  • The Conservative government is supporting young people into the workplace to deliver a high skill, high wage, high productivity economy and redesigning health and care services to reduce wait times for patients.
