The Integration White Paper

Today the government announced a new Integration White Paper, setting out how we will deliver better care for patients with a health and social care system fit for the future.

  • Britain's current health and social care system is disjointed and complex to navigate. Despite the best efforts of staff, patients can be left feeling frustrated at having to repeatedly explain their needs to multiple people at different organisations.
  • That’s why our Integration White Paper will set out how to better link up the system, with health and care systems drawing on the resources across the NHS and local government to provide more personalised, accessible care, while also taking the pressure off patients to coordinate their own care.
  • By joining up services, these plans will ensure that no patient falls between the gap and that everyone receives the right care in the right place at the right time, while delivering better value for money.
