Making sure Britain has the critical supplies our economy needs

Today the government published our Critical Imports and Supply Chains Strategy to ensure the UK has access to the critical goods our economy needs even at times of global shock so business, consumers, and our future economic growth are safeguarded from potential disruption.

  • In an increasingly dangerous world, we must take action to ensure crucial imports, like medicine, arrive in the UK, no matter what happens around the world. Our Critical Imports and Supply Chains Strategy will share new guidance with businesses on the risks they face and how to mitigate them. This will help UK companies build strong and resilient supply chains for vital goods and avoid dependence on coercive states.
  • We are taking the difficult, long-term decisions to protect Britain’s economic security so the UK remains a safe and dynamic place to do business.
