PM to update parliament
This afternoon the Prime Minister will update the House of Commons on strikes on Houthi targets in Yemen – action taken to defend lives and protect global shipping in the face of dangerous and destabilising Houthi attacks in the Red Sea.
- The action taken by the Houthi militia has been reckless and was carried out despite repeated warnings from the international community.
- The Royal Air Force, alongside the United States with non-operational support from the Netherlands, Canada and Bahrain, carried out targeted strikes against military facilities used by Houthi rebels in Yemen. These strikes were limited and necessary to protect lives and global shipping, and the Prime Minister will deliver a statement in the House of Commons today about these strikes.
