Quote of the day 9th July 2015
"The modal Labour voter is now a Londoner in her twenties who reads the Guardian and works in the Public Sector.
That's not a coalition for government, it's a Sophie Kinsella character."
(One of many superb quotes from a superb analysis by Stephen Daisley, STV’s digital political correspondent, which you can read at http://news.stv.tv/scotland-decides/analysis/1324261-analysis-stephen-daisley-on-liz-kendall-and-the-labour-leadership-race/
I suspect that Mr Daisley's politics are rather different from mine, but I have rarely read a political analysis which hits so many nails squarely on the head. Barring what Harold MacMillan called "Events, dear Boy, Events", if Labour want to be serious challengers for power in 2025, let alone 2015, they will take his advice very seriously)
