Nine years of growth

Last week’s GDP figures demonstrate that the UK economy has grown for nine consecutive years, as our balanced approach to the economy continues to drive prosperity and create jobs.

Key facts:
  • The economy grew by 0.5 per cent in the first three months of 2019 – it has now grown for nine years in a row.
  • We’re investing at record levels in infrastructure, skills and R and D facilities to grow the economy further.

Why this matters

These figures show that our economy remains robust, as we support businesses to create better, higher-paying jobs all across the country.
