Christopher Whiteside MBE is a Conservative activist. He was Conservative candidate for Leeds North East in the 2024 General election He has served as a County, City & District, Borough, Town and Parish councillor, and has also been a school governor and health authority member. He is currently an Egremont Town Councillor. He lives and works in the North of England, particularly dividing his time between Cumbria and Yorkshire.

Conservative policy is that taxes should be as low as is compatible with funding essential public services properly and keeping the deficit and the national debt under control.
We would like to be able to cut taxes on families, individuals and companies but not to the point where it puts the national finances in jeopardy or leaves us unable to meet our promises to increase funding on the NHS, put 20,000 more police on our streets, and improve the funding of schools.
