Contract Tracing

The Prime Minister has announced that by 1 June we will have 25,000 coronavirus contact tracers in place and ready to start tracing new cases and keep the virus under control.
  • As Britain inch towards a return to normality, we must ensure that we do not compromise the progress we have made. Alongside our hugely ramped up testing capacity, tracing will be an essential part of our ongoing approach.

  • The government has already recruited 24,000 contact tracers, and by 1 June will have 25,000. This army of tracers will be capable of tracking the contacts of up to 10,000 new cases a day – this will dramatically aid our ability to test, track and trace – slowing the spread of new cases.

  • Whilst we make progress on testing and tracing everyone must continue to play their part; so stay alert, to keep the spread of the virus under control and save lives.
