A year ago today ...

One year ago today the Conservative party published our election manifesto which set out our vision for this country, to level up opportunity and unlock the potential of every region across the UK.

  • This has been a tough year for us all, but we will not let it get in the way of putting levelling up at the centre of our economic recovery or deter us from delivering on our manifesto promises.

  • Last December people put their faith in us, and on Wednesday when the Chancellor announces the Spending Review, we will show voters that the bold platform that they elected us on is being delivered; meaning funding for more nurses, police officers and GP appointments, investing in infrastructure that supports our world-class public services like schools and hospitals that people rely on every day.

  • Investing in our fantastic NHS and public services was at the heart of our manifesto commitments, as we continue to tackle coronavirus, we are making sure they have the resources and support they need, from investing £3 billion to address backlogs owing to Covid-19 and boosting the pay of almost 900,000 public sector workers including doctors, teachers and police officers earlier this year.

  • The British people deserve outstanding schools for our children, world-leading public services for our families and an NHS that is always there for us. As we build back better from the pandemic, the Conservatives will deliver on Britain’s priorities by putting public services at the heart of our economic renewal.
