Anti-semitic terrorists firebomb ambulances.

 From the BBC this morning.

"An arson attack on ambulances belonging to a Jewish community ambulance service in north London is being treated as an antisemitic hate crime, the Metropolitan Police has said.

Four Hatzola ambulances were set ablaze in Golders Green in the early hours of Monday morning, causing several explosions - believed to be linked to gas cannisters onboard the vehicles.

No arrests have been made but CCTV footage, which appears to show three suspects dressed in black walking towards an ambulance before setting it on fire, is being investigated.

Hatzola representative Laurence Blitz said it was "shocking for any normal-minded person to attack an organisation whose sole purpose is to save lives."

The London Fire Brigade was called to Highfield Road at around 01:40 GMT and the fires were brought under control less than two hours later. No injuries have been reported.

Dozens of residents were evacuated from their homes after a series of explosions which caused the windows in a nearby block of flats to shatter. Around 30 people were taken to a local shelter.

Local resident and councillor Shimon Ryde told the BBC that the ambulances were close to the Mchzike Hadath synagogue.

"I was advised that the Hatzola ambulance centre had been attacked, which is right next to a synagogue," Ryde said, speaking from the shelter.

"It's very shocking, it's not unexpected...the Jewish community is very aware of the danger we live in".

Chief Rabbi Ephraim Mirvis said the targeting of the volunteer ambulance service was "particularly sickening", adding that their "sole mission is to protect life, Jewish and non-Jewish alike".

Hatzola is a large non-profit, Jewish-led organisation that provides free emergency medical response and transportation to hospitals.

Run by volunteers, it has served the North London community of Golders Green, which has a large Jewish population, since 1979."

The government has promised to fund the replacement of the four destroyed Hatzola ambulances. They may not need to: Tens of thousands of pounds have already been raised across multiple GoFundMe pages to help rebuild the Hatzola fleet.

Kemi Badenoch said:

"What kind of person targets Hatzola, a volunteer-run ambulance service? Just last week in Golders Green, members of the Jewish community told me how they live in fear of constant attacks.

The police must find those responsible.

A hatred of Jews is growing in our country and all of us need to make it clear in our words and actions that  Britain will not tolerate antisemitism."

Rishi Sunak commented

"Disgusted by the attack on ambulances in Golders Green.

I know the vital work Hatzola does, so this is particularly sickening.

We must all stand against the evil of antisemitism."

I also see a comment in my Twitter feed by someone called Benjamin Ramm whose family had been helped by Hatzola:

"My Iranian mother collapsed on the morning of Christmas Day. The volunteers of Hatzola were with us within five minutes: their service is literally a life-saver. The thugs who firebombed their ambulances celebrate the culture of death."
