not really, there have been 2 really bad ones thoughout my lifetime, strictly enforced, that i have wanted to get out of.

One is the European Union (remember I am 41 years old now) the other is Fiat money.

hmmmmmmmmm.

Abraham Lincoln was not talking about political or economic structures but about laws which ban or prescribe certain actions or lay down how everyone must carry them out.

Hence it does not really cover the issue of whether what sort of money the state provides or guarantees.

However, the strict enforcement of EU regulations undoubtedly had a lot to do with the vote to leave the EU, so IMHO that is probably a very good example which supports Lincoln's point.

Well, we got out of the EU in the end, yes. But it took over 40 years to do so.
