When the line changes ...

Less that three months ago Jeremy Corbyn sacked three pro-EU shadow ministers for voting to stay in the EU single market.

It is now suggested that he may sack shadow ministers who refuse to oppose Brexit by refusing to vote against the withdrawal bill.

It reminds me of a story told about just about every totalitarian regime in the 20th century. This is the version which was told in Soviet Russia under Stalin:

Three new inmates arrive in a Labour camp in Siberia and ask each other why they are there.

"Because yesterday I was criticising Comrade Popov" said the first. "What about you?"

"Because today I was praising Comrade Popov," said the second. They look at the third.

"I am Comrade Popov!" he replies.

Not sure what to make of Kimmy boy and his totalitarian regime at the moment. Its a very tough one.

I dont think there is a good answer, hopefully China will help out a lot, especially calming the region with gold backed Yuan oil trades.

No good answer to that one. Judging by what he ordered done to his own uncle and half-brother, I suspect the equivalent of "Comrade Popov" would not have lived to be put in a cell in North Korea.

Actually I do quite like the idea from Jocko Willink (a former US Navy SEAL).

His idea is actually pretty brilliant. Instead of bombs or soldiers or sanctions or anything like that, just drop 25 million smart phones on South Korea, and a few satellites that provide free WiFi.

Simples.

Quote of the day 24th July 2020

I was moved to put the passage below forward as a quote today when I saw a horrible post on twitter from someone writing that it was "excellent" that someone who took a different view from her about Brexit had died. I won't write which way round it was so that all the Remain supporters can assume the post was from a Brexit fanatic welcoming the death of a remainer and all the Leavers can assume it was a Remainiac welcoming one less Brexiteer. There's been plenty of nasty stuff on both sides but if you catch anyone of your own viewpoint  posting something like that who might listen to you, please do call them out on it - and point out that they're giving everyone on your side of the argument a bad name.
