Help for heroes to rejoin civil society when they have served.

Defence chiefs will work with British business to look at new ways of helping veterans find work when they return to civilian life.

Key facts:

·         New research shows that veterans face distinct challenges when looking for work after they have left military service.

·         But we want to help bridge that gap by promoting the skills of veterans and encouraging businesses to hire talented and professional young men and women looking for fresh careers as they return to civilian life.

·         This forms part of the first UK wide Veteran’s Strategy, building on the Armed Forces Covenant to help improve access to services and improve the health and well-being of veterans.

Why this matters: Veterans have risked their lives for this country, and it is vital that we all recognise and reward their sacrifice for our country – giving them the support they need when they have left the armed forces.
