Whitehaven Relief Road consultation documents arrive

After Secretary of State for transport Chris Grayling came to Whitehaven on Friday to personally launch the consultation into the proposed Whitehaven Relief Road, keeping his promise that that consultation would take place this year, consultation documents have started dropping through the letterboxes of residents of Whitehaven and surrounding areas of Copeland today.

If you live in the area and have not received one by Friday of this week I suggest you contact Highways England on 0300 123 5000.

You can also contact the Highways England team who are running the consultation by email at

A595Whitehaven@highwaysengland.co.uk

You can also view the consultation material and respond online at www.highwaysengland.co.uk/A595whitehaven

There will be "drop-in" consultation sessions for the public on Saturday 17th and Wednesday 28th November at the Beacon (from 10am to 4pm and 2pm to 7pm respectively) and on Thursday 29th November at Ingwell Hall at Westlakes Science and Technology Park.

How much are they wasting on this 'consultation'?

The area desperately needs this road.

If this consultation helps us to get it, the amount of money wasted on it will be zero.
