Eat out to help out - reprise.

As I wrote here yesterday, more than 53,000 outlets across the United Kingdom have signed up to the Eat Out to Help Out scheme, as the government continues to do all it can to help our restaurants, cafes and bars recover.

  • Employing more than a million people, Britain's thriving restaurants, cafes and bars have been hit particularly hard by the coronavirus which is why we want to encourage more customers back through their doors.
  • During August, Eat Out to Help Out stickers and posters will be displayed in the windows of establishments participating in our scheme across the country, where diners will benefit from a 50 per cent discount, up to a maximum of £10 per person from Mondays to Wednesdays, and diners will be able to locate the nearest participating venues closest to them using our online finder.
  • The Eat Out to Help Out scheme is designed to get more customers through the door – protecting jobs by giving businesses the confidence to retain and hire staff.
  • Since posting this the first time yesterday I have acted on my own advice and taken my family out for a meal, supporting a local West Cumbrian restaurant in a safe, socially distanced environment.
