Levelling up rural communities

The government has unveiled a £110 million fund to level up rural communities across England, ensuring the levelling up mission delivers for every corner of the country.

  • Whilst talent is spread evenly across the country, opportunity is not, and we must address the rural productivity gap by delivering levelling up opportunities for these unique communities.
  • That is why the Conservative government has announced that rural businesses such as farms, wedding venues and pubs will benefit from up to £110 million of funding. Investment will be based on local priorities such as boosting local tourism, delivering capital grants for the provision of gigabit capable digital infrastructure and the creation of new footpaths and cycle paths.
  • This fund recognises the unique strengths and challenges of our rural communities by giving them the tools they need to grow their economies in line with local priorities.
